AN INDEPENDENT PERSPECTIVE

Choosing a dressage horse is a highly individual decision.

Quality matters — but so do health, temperament, rideability, training and the horse’s potential in relation to the rider’s individual goals and requirements.

J.S. Horse Insight provides an experienced and independent perspective to support you in making an informed decision.

Whether you already have a particular horse in mind or would like support during your search, I offer an independent professional perspective tailored to your individual goals and requirements.

SERVICES

Already considering several dressage horses — or still looking for suitable candidates?

Whether you already have several horses in consideration or are still exploring the market, I can support you in narrowing down the options based on your individual goals, requirements and budget.

Together, we look at the available information and consider aspects such as temperament, rideability, training, experience and potential in relation to what you are looking for.

Rather than choosing a horse for you, my role is to highlight relevant differences, identify potential strengths and concerns, and help you focus on the candidates worth exploring further.

Would you like a horse considered before becoming personally involved?

If a particular dressage horse has caught your interest, I can visit the horse on your behalf and provide an independent perspective before you decide whether to take the next step.

During the visit, I consider the horse’s overall impression, training level, rideability, temperament and potential, as well as any aspects that may be worth exploring further.

If discretion is important, the prospective buyer’s identity can remain confidential during this initial stage.

Where possible, I can also document the horse on video, allowing you to form your own impression alongside my observations.

Would you like an experienced second perspective by your side?

If you are planning to see and try a dressage horse yourself, I can accompany you and provide an independent perspective throughout the visit.

Having another experienced eye can help identify details that may be difficult to notice while you are focused on riding and getting a feel for the horse.

I can observe the horse from the ground and consider aspects such as rideability, temperament, training level and overall impression. By prior arrangement and where appropriate, I can also ride the horse myself to gain an additional impression from the saddle.

Afterwards, we can discuss my observations and impressions together, giving you additional insight to consider alongside your own experience with the horse.

The decision always remains yours — my role is to provide an additional experienced and independent perspective.

THE EXPERTISE BEHIND J.S. HORSE INSIGHT

Judith Shiferaw

Judith Shiferaw riding a dressage horse

My background in dressage is rooted in professional education and many years of hands-on experience in the training and development of horses.

I completed professional qualifications as a Pferdewirt in both Classical Riding and Horse Breeding & Management, followed by the Pferdewirtschaftsmeister in Classical Riding.

My focus has always been on the training and development of horses. Over the years, I have worked with horses across a wide range of levels — from young horses at the beginning of their careers through to advanced dressage horses.

My own competition experience ranges from young horse classes up to S***. Over the years, I have developed and supported horses that went on to compete at international championships. I have also worked closely with horses throughout their development that competed at the Olympic Games and other major international championships.

This experience has shaped the way I look at horses today: to recognise not only where a horse is in its development, but what it may be capable of with the right training and guidance.
